Solar Car
The Solar Car project was an engineering project that involved 3D modeling, printing parts, and testing the final car. Our group used programs such as SolidWorks, AutoCad, Cura, and 3D Studio to create our parts and put it together. Click on the slideshow to read about each step.
This piece was created in SolidWorks using extrudes and cuts. This piece was used to hold the axles in place as the motor spun them to move to wheels.
The Axle Mounts were then exported to Cura and then an SD card to be printed on the Ultimaker 2.
After the races, we analyzed what worked well and what we would do differently if we did the challenge again.
